Invasive Animals

Invasive animals are defined as animals who as a result of human activities occur beyond their normal accepted distribution and threaten valued environmental, agricultural or social resources by damages they cause.

Many of these animals can have a significant impact on primary industries, our unique biodiversity and can also be harmful to both human and animal health.

Council's Pest Management Officers are responsible for controlling invasive animals living on public land. They are also able to provide advice on how to control these animals to landowners who are experiencing the effect of invasive animals on their private land.
