Disaster Preparation

Be Aware and Be Prepared for when a disaster such as a cyclone or bushfire (link to flood and bushfire pages) strikes our Shire. It is important that you and your family know how to be prepared and what steps to take. Follow the four basic steps below to lessen the risk to you and your family. 

Step 1Prepare an Emergency Plan and Prepare for Evacuation 
Step 2. Prepare an Emergency Kit (include a battery-operated radio)

Step 3. Prepare your home 

Step 4. Tune into Warnings  Listen to local radio and/or television, or check the Bureau of Meteorology website for further flood and weather updates. 

We also recommend you check your neighbours and prepare your pets
