Livingstone Shire Council’s Shire-wide community meetings are now well underway, with three events remaining where residents are invited to come along, meet the Council team and have their say.
Mayor of Livingstone Shire, Councillor Bill Ludwig said residents in the areas of Byfield, Farnborough and Yeppoon are invited to attend the local meetings scheduled in their neighbourhoods over the next two weeks.
“We have had some excellent feedback from the community over the past two weeks from the meetings across the Shire in regard to Council services and what residents believe are the priorities in their local communities,” Cr Ludwig said.
“These forums have afforded Council the opportunity to better understand and consider the current needs of our diverse communities across the Shire, and to discuss and explore potential ways to deliver outcomes for those communities.
“Feedback from these meetings has been minuted and where matters require longer-term solutions and major capital expenditure those plans will be put forward for consideration in the next budget for 2014/15.”
“Councillors, our Senior Management Team and staff have enjoyed getting out and speaking to our locals, and we are already planning to revisit these communities again in October,” Cr Ludwig said.
Residents are encouraged to advise Council in advance of topics they would like discussed or questions they may have by contacting Council, preferably 5 days prior to the meeting, by either:
• calling Customer Service on 4913 5000;
• visiting the website at www.livingstone.qld.gov.au/communitymeetings to submit questions or topics via the online form; or
• Emailing email@example.com.
