  2. Creative writing - The Gratefulness Gazette

    15 September, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM @ Livingstone Community Centre

    We are so excited to present two collaborative creative writing workshops in September. Our theme is The Gratefulness Gazette! Our fabulous creative mentor Kristy Kruse will be facilitating this event and we are calling all budding writers, sketchers, young and young at heart to come together and compose a collection of positive readable art! Kristy’s love for creative writing flourished at a very young age and she is passionate about sharing this love and being creative any way possible. Week one – Sunday 15th September Create the Gratefulness Gazette. Assist in setting out the gazette with the pre-planned patterns (certain sized paper to make the gazette collage). Conjure your creative drawing skills for some light hearted cartoons, pen your personal positive quote, maybe a fictitious weather report, a love letter, a happiness word puzzle, pass on your favourite recipe, or pour out the poetry from your heart. There is no limit to your imagination and dependent on size and tim

  5. Youth Action Group

    18 September, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ The Hub

    The Youth Action Group is a Council initiative that offers the opportunity for youth across the Shire to meet other enthusiastic and like-minded young people. The group is targeted towards anyone aged between 12 to 24 years who is interested in playing a role in decisions that affect young people and developing new skills. Meetings are held fortnightly (except during school holidays). To apply for the Youth Action Group, simply complete the linked application form and email it to the Community Development and Sport and Recreation team.

  7. Beach Day Out

    20 September, 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM @ Bell Park, Emu Park

    EVERYONE WELCOME! The Beach Day Out event is held annually during Disability Action Week. This year the even will be held at Bell Park and the beach at Emu Park. The event aims to provide a fun day at the beach for the whole community, and in particular for people with a disability who may ordinarily have difficulty in easily accessing such an event. Importantly, the inclusive event also aims to: • promote positive attitudes towards those with a disability; • break down stereotypes; • highlight access issues in the community that affect people with disabilities from easily accessing services and facilities; • improve community support for those with a disability, by providing information, linking of services and establishing links and partnerships between agencies; and • provide a wide range of free, inclusive activities that are engaging and fun for persons with a whole range of abilities. Last year Beach Day Out attracted over 3500 participants!
