Please join us by turning off your lights for Turtle Hour on Sunday 20th October 2024 between 7pm and 8pm.
It's turtle season on the Capricorn Coast and female turtles will be coming to shore to lay eggs on our beaches. Light from houses, neighbourhoods and businesses create a collective glow that can stop turtles from nesting and prevent hatchlings from reaching the ocean.
Turtle Hour encourages residents and businesses to turn off their lights for one hour to protect our local marine turtles.
