Community Nursery
Located within the Yeppoon Landfill, the Community Nursery specializes in growing a wide variety of plants endemic to the Capricornia region. We collect seeds from local species and grow them to ensure that the plants we offer are suited to the unique conditions of our region. Whether you’re looking to enhance your garden, take part in environmental projects, or support local biodiversity, the Community Nursery has something for everyone.
Our dedicated team of volunteers contributes around 3,000 hours of work annually, playing a crucial role in ensuring the health and vitality of our nursery. Their hard work allows us to offer high-quality native plants at affordable prices to residents. We also supply free plants to community revegetation projects i.e. Fitzroy Basin Authority, Landcare, and Livingstone Shire Council projects.
Nursery Opening Hours:
Wednesdays & Fridays from 8am – 3pm
Every 2nd Saturday of each month from 8am - 11am
Payment is by EFTPOS only.
Following our 3-month trial of opening on Saturdays, the Community Nursery will now open on the second Saturday of each month from 8am to 11am! This is in addition to our regular hours, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9am to 3pm.
With tubestock for $4 and 100mm pots for $5, these sales are a great chance to bring home unique, locally grown plants while supporting community revegetation projects and helping maintain nursery operations.
