Mayor's Christmas Giving Tree Appeal

The Livingstone community came together in an inspiring display of generosity and kindness during the first-ever Mayor’s Christmas Giving Tree Appeal! Over 150 items were donated, helping to spread joy and support local families in need this festive season.

This successful initiative exceeded its initial goal, with almost 60 Christmas hampers distributed to individuals and families through the iCare Community Project at the Yeppoon Community Centre. Surplus toys and gifts were shared with families via Vinnies Yeppoon, ensuring even more children experienced the magic of Christmas morning.

The iCare Community Project, which has already supported over 750 individuals and families during 2024 with essential items, played a vital role in preparing these festive hampers. The hampers included non-perishable food, toiletries, and Christmas treats, bringing hope and joy to those who needed it most.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we exceeded our goal of 50 hampers. This initiative highlights the compassion of Livingstone residents and reminds us of the power of giving during the festive season. Every donation has provided not only relief but also a sense of belonging and joy.”
Mayor Adam Belot.

While the Mayor’s Christmas Giving Tree Appeal is now finished for 2024, the spirit of giving lives on. Donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries can still be made at the Community Centre, 80 John Street, Yeppoon, year-round.
