Contractor Awarded to Construct New Stages at Gateway Business and Industry Park
The civil works contract to construct stages 2B and 3 of the Gateway Business and Industry Park (The Gateway) has been awarded to local company Hendrie Constructions.
The new stages will create ten new lots and road infrastructure for new and existing businesses and industries to call Yeppoon home.
The Gateway is a 56-hectare, 6-stage master-planned industrial precinct developed and owned by Livingstone Shire Council. Stages 1 and 2A, consisting of 19 lots are fully developed and sold. Commercial lots range in size from 2,000 square metres to 2.3 hectares.
Mayor Andy Ireland said Council is building The Gateway’s capacity to accommodate the projected growth needs of business and industry in the short to medium-term future.
“Further development of The Gateway is delivering on Council’s long-term plan to drive economic growth, private investment, and local job creation on the Capricorn Coast,” Mayor Ireland said.
“Livingstone Shire is open for business, and we are inviting new and existing businesses who are seeking to expand to consider The Gateway as your next home to build on your life’s work.
“There are still some lots available so if you are considering the next stage for your business or your industry, please consider The Gateway.”
Managing Director Luke Hendrie said that Hendrie Constructions had built a reputation throughout Central Queensland as a civil construction firm focused on creating quality for a range of local government and development projects.
“Hendrie Constructions has been in business on the Capricorn Coast for over a decade and we are proud to be part of this community, so we are pleased to gain Council support to build such a significant project for the region,” Mr Hendrie said.
“As Livingstone Shire continues to grow and secure population and business growth from throughout Queensland and Australia, we look forward to continuing to lay strong foundations with Livingstone Shire Council as a trusted local contractor.”
The Gateway provides flexibility in its product offering with the ability to tailor parcels of land specifically to meet the individual requirements of both small and larger scale businesses operating at low or medium impact uses.
A range of business are currently operating out of the park, including a brewery, bus depot, engineering, heavy machinery, waste removal services and storage facilities to list a few.
The Gateway is located on the fringe of the Yeppoon town centre with access via Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road that links with the Bruce Highway.
