New Sponsorship Program Launches for Livingstone Events
Livingstone Shire Council has announced the launch of its revamped Community Event Sponsorship Program, offering over $200,000 in financial or value-in-kind support for events that provide economic and community benefits to the region.
The program will offer two sponsorship rounds per financial year, with Round One applications now open for events scheduled from 1 July to 31 December 2023.
The program covers four categories, including Community Events, Regional Events, Economic Events, and Community Hall and Markets, providing support to a wide variety of events from intimate community events to large-scale economic events.
Mayor Andy Ireland said Council is proud to be able to support event organisers to maximise the potential of local events in our community.
“By investing in local events, we are supporting the many shire-wide benefits that events bring to our region and community,” Mayor Ireland said.
“This new sponsorship model aims to empower local event creators and provide them with the opportunity to gain Council support on a more regular and competitive basis.
“I urge anyone planning a community event to apply.”
Portfolio Holder of Vibrant Community (Tourism, Arts Culture), Councillor Rhodes Watson, emphasised the Council's focus on investing in both well-established and new events through the sponsorship program.
“Successful events such as the CQUniversity Village Festival, Yeppoon Lions Tropical Pinefest, Capricorn Coast Writer’s Festival and Yeppoon Triathlon Festival have created treasured memories for Shire residents and visitors, and we hope to replicate their success with our newly revamped Community Event Sponsorship Program,” Cr Watson said.
Applications for round one close at midnight, 19 May 2023.
