Community Members Urged to Join Council’s Australia Day Advisory Committee

Livingstone Shire Council is calling for volunteers to join the Livingstone Australia Day Advisory Awards Committee 2024, playing a vital role in celebrating and recognizing the outstanding contributions of individuals and groups within the community.
The Livingstone Australia Day Advisory Awards Committee 2024 is now responsible for nominating individuals and groups in various categories, reflecting the diversity of the community's achievements.
These categories include:
• Sports and Recreation
• Arts and Culture
• Business and Innovation
• Rural and Agriculture
• Community
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
Chair of the Livingstone Australia Day Advisory Awards Committee 2024, Councillor Clint Swadling said community members have a unique opportunity to contribute.
“This is a unique opportunity for passionate community members to actively participate in honouring those who make a positive impact on the Shire,” Councillor Swadling said.
“By joining the committee, volunteers will have the chance to be directly involved in recognizing excellence across a range of fields.”
Member of the Livingstone Australia Day Advisory Awards Committee 2024, Councillor Andrea Friend said Council believes in acknowledging the efforts of those who have made substantial contributions to the community.
“Through their dedication, committee members contribute to the building of stronger social connections and a greater sense of community pride,” Councillor Friend said.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community while also being part of a team that actively promotes the values of unity and recognition.”
Interested community members are encouraged to apply to join the Australia Day Awards Committee by close of business on Monday, September 11th 2023.
