The highly anticipated completion of stages 2B and 3 of the Gateway Business and Industry Park (The Gateway) has marked a significant achievement for the region's economic development.

The civil works contract for these stages was successfully completed by local company, Hendrie Constructions.

These new stages have unveiled 11 lots along with advanced road infrastructure, poised to welcome both emerging and established businesses and industries to establish their presence in the vibrant Capricorn Coast community.

The Gateway, an expansive 56-hectare master-planned industrial precinct, has seen its ambitious vision becoming a reality, proudly developed and owned by Livingstone Shire Council.

With stages 1 and 2A — encompassing 19 lots — having already flourished and found their new owners, The Gateway's trajectory is set to redefine industrial possibilities in the region.

The available commercial lots span from 2,000 square meters to 2.3 hectares, catering to a diverse range of business needs.

Mayor Andy Ireland emphasised that the Council's commitment to expanding The Gateway resonates with its broader strategy to foster economic expansion, stimulate private investments, and catalyse local job opportunities along the Capricorn Coast and the wider Livingstone Shire.

"Livingstone extends a warm invitation to businesses, both established and emerging, seeking growth avenues. The Gateway stands as a symbol of opportunity, signalling our region's readiness to embrace innovation and progress," Mayor Ireland said.

“We have already seen the benefits of what The Gateway provides for a wide variety of light to medium industry business operators already enjoying the premises for some years. From Young’s Bus Services, Hodge Drilling, Tropical Pines, and even our local waste collection contractors JJ Richards having established their operations here.

"If you are envisioning a future for your enterprise, or considering expansion, I urge you to explore the potential that The Gateway holds."

Managing Director Luke Hendrie of Hendrie Constructions spoke of the company's pride in contributing to the community's growth through significant projects such as The Gateway.

"As a longstanding member of the Capricorn Coast, we’re proud to deliver this project in collaboration with Council to help shape and strengthen the collective future of our community and look forward to continuing to lay strong foundations in this growing region as a leading supplier of quality civil construction work for government, commercial projects and residential projects," Mr Hendrie said.

"As Livingstone Shire flourishes as a hub of both business and residence, we’re proud to deliver this project in collaboration with Council to help shape and strengthen the collective future of our community."
