Unleash Your Creative Potential with RADF: Funding Awaits Livingstone Shire's Artistic Visionaries
Artists, both established and emerging, are on the verge of bringing their creative dreams to life as Round One applications for the 2023/24 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) approach.
From vibrant art exhibitions and intensive workshops to captivating performances and enlightening songwriting retreats, this ongoing program ignites the artistic passions of Livingstone residents and community groups, allowing them to share their art with the broader community.
RADF is a collaboration between the Queensland Government and Livingstone Shire Council that inspires and supports local creators in their artistic endeavours.
Councillor Rhodes Watson, Portfolio Holder of Vibrant Community (Tourism, Events and Culture), emphasized the importance of this initiative.
"The RADF is a driving force for artistic innovation in Livingstone Shire," Cr Watson said.
"The program not only nurtures creativity but also empowers our community to connect, share, and celebrate the vibrant arts and culture that our Shire has to offer.
"Previous RADF recipients have harnessed their grants to create exceptional artistic endeavours and to explore professional development opportunities."
In the previous round of funding, the RADF supported a diverse range of creative endeavours in our community. These projects encompassed artistic growth and cultural enrichment, including providing a platform for emerging talent in programs like the ArtSHINE Launch Pad and Accelerator Program, nurturing songwriting skills through retreats, and offering improvisation workshops to aspiring performers.
The previous round’s initiatives collectively added up to just over $37,000 in support, fostering a flourishing arts and culture scene in our community.
Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Queensland Government’s successful, long-term partnership with local governments through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) supports the delivery of hundreds of arts experiences, employment opportunities and capacity building for arts and cultural workers across the state.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthen local communities and drive economic outcomes through arts and culture, the Queensland Government has provided $2.184 million for RADF 2023-24 to 59 local councils who have contributed a co-investment of $1.979 million,” Minister Enoch said.
“The Queensland Government’s Creative Together 2020-2030 roadmap prioritises activation of Queensland’s places and spaces and arts engagement that drives positive change for Queensland communities. Projects funded through RADF support communities to share stories and creativity, provide important pathways for learning and connection, and boost local creative economies and tourism.”
