Your Guide to Council Services During the Festive Season

Back

Livingstone Shire Council wishes to inform residents that a number of Council services will take a short break over the Christmas and New Year period, while essential services will remain unchanged.

Livingstone Shire Deputy Mayor Adam Belot said the impact on residents would be minimal, while offering a large part of council’s dedicated workforce the chance to celebrate the season with their loved ones.

"As we embrace the festive spirit, Council remains committed to ensuring essential services and urgent assistance are available throughout the holiday period,” Cr Belot said.

"While our regular operations will pause from 12 pm Friday, 22 December, to Tuesday, 2 January, emergency requests from the community will be promptly addressed.

"Throughout this period, vital services will continue, including the supervision of essential projects, water supply testing, CBD parking oversight, ongoing maintenance, and the management of critical and emergency situations.

"For any urgent Council-related matters during the holiday period, our 24/7 hotline at 1300 790 919 remains active. This includes issues like burst water mains, traffic safety concerns, environmental incidents, and emergency animal incidents.

"Non-urgent concerns can be logged anytime via Council’s Online Services portal.

"On behalf of Council, I extend warm wishes for a joyous and safe holiday season to all our residents."
