Livingstone Health and Wellness Expo encourages community to prioritise their wellbeing
Livingstone Shire Council is inviting the community along to participate in this year’s inaugural event, the Livingstone Health and Wellness Expo!
To be held on Saturday, 14 September 2024 at Beaman Park, Yeppoon, Livingstone Health and Wellness Expo is a not-for-profit initiative aimed at promoting health and wellbeing within the community.
Recreation and Culture Committee Co-Chair, Councillor Andrea Friend said Council’s primary goal is to create an environment that is free, interactive, and fun, encouraging individuals and families to find out more about the health and wellness opportunities available in Livingstone Shire.
"We are thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response from local businesses, with over 50 registered stallholders!” Cr Friend said.
“The expo will showcase a diverse range of health and fitness groups, clubs, businesses, activities, products, and programs that support fitness, wellness, and healthy living.
“From sunrise yoga, group fitness classes, breathwork, family beach bootcamp to fantastic guest speakers on a wide variety of health topics, Council aims to inspire positive lifestyle changes within the wider community.”
Recreation and Culture Committee Co-Chair, Councillor Lance Warcon invited residents to attend and take part in a wide range of activities including interactive workshops, health and fitness demonstrations, health screenings, kids' activities, face painting, art and crafts, health assessments, fitness tests, health and wellness displays, competitions, prizes, giveaways, and more.
“This family-friendly event is your chance to connect with sporting clubs, gyms and fitness groups, nutritionists, physiotherapists, massage therapists, healthcare providers, as well as a broad range of health and wellbeing professionals,” Cr Warcon said.
“Whether you're seeking professional advice or looking to explore new ways to enhance your wellbeing, the expo offers something for everyone.”
Attendees will also have the chance to explore a diverse line-up at the “Speakers Corner”, featuring discussions on various health and wellbeing topics, as well as various workshops in the “Fitness Zone”.
