Livingstone Shire Council is thrilled to invite the community to a one-of-a-kind cultural event, celebrating Indigenous talent and heritage with a captivating evening of music and dance.

Proud Darumbal and Wulli-Wulli artist, Garret Lyon, will take to the stage at Yeppoon Town Hall on Saturday 14 December, for an evening filled with powerful vocals, dynamic dance, and storytelling.

The evening will open with a traditional Welcome to Country by Co-Chair of the Recreation and Culture Committee Councillor Lance Warcon, followed by a neon corroboree performance by the local dancers of Warama Culture, who are dedicated to fostering understanding and appreciation of their vibrant heritage.

Councillor Warcon said this event was a unique opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate, and experience the rich cultural heritage of the Darumbal people.

“Council is proud to showcase Garret Lyon’s inspiring talent and the incredible work of our local Warama Culture dancers, who bring tradition and spirit to life on stage,” Cr Warcon said.

“Known for his captivating stage presence, Garret’s journey from Central Queensland’s Darumbal country to stages across Australia and beyond showcases the strength, resilience, and creativity of Indigenous artists.”
