Our Healthy and Active Programs aims to encourage a vibrant community where all residents and visitors are empowered to participate in regular physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
We recognise that achieving our vision requires collaboration across sectors and stakeholders and our programs will be delivered through partnerships with key government and non-government stakeholders.
If you are interested in finding out about upcoming programs or would like to partner with Council to facilitate healthy and active initiatives, please email cdsr@livingstone.qld.gov.au.
The Active Women and Girls Program will be designed to promote physical activity and wellbeing for girls and women in our community.
The program goal is to increase participation in physical activity and enhance the overall wellbeing of Livingstone's girls and women. This initiative will specifically target inactive women and girls by offering a diverse range of activities in partnership with local health and wellness businesses and sporting clubs.
This program will be committed to fostering inclusivity and support, breaking down barriers to participation. By helping participants establish healthy habits, the program aims to inspire long-lasting positive changes and promote a sustainable, active lifestyle.
If you’d like to submit an expression of interest to be involved with the program, please contact us at cdsr@livingstone.qld.gov.au. Registrations will open in January 2025, with the program commencing on 2nd March 2025.
The Queensland Government has provided $25,000 to Livingstone Shire Council to deliver the Active Women and Girls Program, enabling Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities.
