Arts community invited to apply for a share in latest round of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)
From local music festivals to community workshops and artistic development, the arts community is encouraged to apply for the latest round of funding under the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), which opens today!
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Livingstone Shire Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
Portfolio holder of Vibrant Community (Tourism, Events and Culture), Councillor Tanya Lynch, encouraged local artists to apply for the grants available this round for projects starting after 1 January 2021.
“This ongoing joint partnership programme invests in local arts and cultural priorities and is proud to support the abundance of talented residents who bring joy to the community through their work,” Cr Lynch said.
“The programme offers assistance to individuals and organisations for projects such as individual professional development, skills development workshops, creative development of new work and cultural tourism.
“These are also projects which focus on identity and heritage, exhibitions and collections/stories, regional partnerships as well as collaborative innovative arts projects, and arts events and performances.
“The Regional Arts Development Fund also aligns with Council’s Livingstone Community Plan: Towards 2050, which aims to provide support for and promote community and cultural events and festivals throughout the year, targeted at a range of different ages, interests and abilities.
“Council would like to once again acknowledge the strong support from the Queensland Government towards the delivery of its RADF 2019-20 programme.”
Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Palaszczuk Government was proud to continue its RADF partnership with local governments with an investment of $2.08 million, through Arts Queensland, for the 2019-20 fund.
“This investment will support the delivery of hundreds of arts experiences and professional development opportunities across the state,” Ms Enoch said.
“Projects funded through RADF provide pathways for learning, contribute to the creation of jobs, foster creativity and boost cultural tourism.”
