Interactive mapping systems now available on Council’s new website

As part of Council’s ongoing commitment to increase efficiency in its operations and customer service outcomes, a number of interactive underground asset maps have now been made available online.

Portfolio holder of Planning and Strategic Infrastructure, Councillor Nigel Hutton, said the mapping software was developed in line with Council’s objectives to encourage entrepreneurship and increase community engagement.

“The software app features information on the location of Council’s Water, Sewer, Effluent, Stormwater and Communications Assets, along with 10 metre elevation contours and is designed to make Council’s asset information readily available to the community at any time and from anywhere,” Cr Hutton said.

“Additional maps include waste maps so residents are able to check up on their bin collection days and other waste service information and a parks and maintenance map which illustrates the parkland areas, playgrounds and gardens across the Shire that Council crews maintain.

“The community also now has access to the Planning Scheme Mapping system which provides information on the Shire’s zones and precincts including environmental, rural, residential, sport and recreation, and open space.

“Council is proud to be able to deliver these important services and useful online tools to the community, which will not only be helpful to residents but also to those in town planning and land development industries.

“In its recently adopted Corporate Plan 2020-2030, Council committed to integrate technology and innovative solutions into Council’s operations and community programmes and this innovative software certainly aligns with those goals.”
