Community Update: Yeppoon Town Centre Carpark – Façade Works

Back

Council would like to advise that it will be installing temporary fencing across the top level of the Yeppoon Town Centre Carpark façade (above the Hill Street entrance), with an engineering assessment of the car park façade currently underway.

Following the advice of the engineering consultants, Council is planning for this section of the façade to be removed within the next two weeks.

Council will also be implementing temporary fencing to restrict access to the footpath and the carpark entrance in Hill Street, which is expected to be erected today, 5 November.

This work is required due to the corten materials used on the external façade of the outdoor car park suffering progressive weakening as a result of the harsh coastal weather conditions, and Council is investigating options to remedy this issue as soon as possible.

Council appreciates the community’s patience during this time.
