Community Update - Hoop Pine Removal – Yeppoon CBD

Council would like to advise that it anticipates undertaking works to remove two hoop pines in the Yeppoon CBD on Thursday, 12 November, 2020.

Traffic management will be in place, detours and some minor delays are expected along Anzac Parade and Normanby Street between 7am and 11.30am.

Council has taken every step to preserve the health of the hoop pines. However, investigations and observations of the continuing declining health and structural integrity have resulted in the final decision to remove the hoop pines to ensure safety and reduce the risk to the public. 

Every effort will be made to ensure that the timber is reused and succession planting occurs.
