Take Me to Paris performs in Yeppoon this month!

Livingstone audience members will be whisked away to Paris through stories and songs as the Take Me to Paris show visits Yeppoon on Friday, 22 October.

After a string of successful Queensland and international tours, French-born, award-winning singer, Pauline Maudy presents a personal show about growing up in two places.

Audiences may be familiar with Pauline’s work from her song writing and performances as the frontwoman of ensemble MZAZA, with whom she is currently nominated for Best Contemporary Album of the Year in the Australian Folk Music Awards.

For fans, Take me to Paris presents a special opportunity to get to know her in a more intimate format and for new audiences it is a chance to get to know one of Queensland’s favourite and most versatile singers.

Take Me to Paris is about belonging, identity, our search for an idealised version of heaven on earth, and everything in between.

Pauline brings to life her story of migration from Paris to Queensland through a captivating repertoire of songs in French and English, including some brand new original compositions.

One of the truly rare voices on the international scene, she effortlessly channels the greats in French and English, transporting audiences from Parisian alleyways to New York jazz bars in a heartbeat.

This entertaining, funny and moving show skilfully weaves compelling storytelling, breathtaking music, and a thought provoking and humorous exploration of whether the grass really is greener on the other side. Skilfully, Take Me to Paris takes us on a voyage to the mystical city of Paris and right back to the beautiful land we live in.

Human Symphony, the producing team behind this show, has been working since 2004 to bring compelling sounds and stories to audiences.

The team is passionate about bringing impactful stories, inspiring music, and meaningful engagement that has a long-term positive impact on individuals and communities.

Pauline Maudy explains: “It is such a treat to get to visit some beautiful parts of Queensland we have been looking forward to returning to as well as getting to know many new communities.”

The production has a strong emphasis on engaging with audiences, with a keen focus on spreading the beauty and intricacies of world music.

Pauline and her team offer a series of community music workshops involving local singers and instrumentalists which lead to performance opportunities.

Producer Greta Kelly says: “The workshops are a great way to get to know the local creatives.  We work with community choirs and local music groups to share songs and skills.  After the workshop we invite people to get up on stage during the show and perform a song with us.”

Don’t miss this first-class musical performance on its Queensland tour.
