Artists and exhibitors nationwide are being encouraged to apply for an Expression of Interest to hold their next exhibition at Yeppoon’s newly opened Fig Tree Galleries.
Councillor Rhodes Watson, Portfolio Holder of Vibrant Communities (Tourism, Arts Culture), said the gallery space has already housed two exhibitions since its completion in August, receiving plenty of interest from visitors and locals alike.
“The galleries are idealistically nestled behind two majestic heritage listed fig trees and comprise three unique spaces, including a leased space occupied by Paint Pot Gallery; a workshop space, and the gallery exhibition space.
“Interested artists and exhibitors are strongly encouraged to jump online and visit Council’s Get Involved platform, and provide as much detail as possible regarding the proposed exhibition,” Cr Watson said.
“Applications will be assessed against our goals and objectives of Livingstone Shire Council’s Arts and Cultural Strategic Plan.
“This EOI provides a fantastic opportunity for more local artists or groups to showcase their work in a modern and welcoming gallery space located conveniently in the centre of Yeppoon.”
Expression of Interest opens from today (11 October) and close Sunday, 7 November 2021.
Exhibitions will be displayed for a four (4) week period, including set up and pack down.
