Council’s Community Centre wants your feedback on its future programmes!

Back
Livingstone Shire Council is seeking feedback from residents to inform the direction of the Community Centre programmes it offers in the future.

The Community Centre is a welcoming and friendly hub for the community to access supportive information and to meet, learn, and share skills and knowledge.

Councillor Pat Eastwood, Portfolio Holder of Healthy and Inclusive Community, said an online survey via Council’s Get Involved platform is available from today.

The survey asks residents a series of questions to gauge their interests and interaction with the Community Centre and whether they currently use its services or not.

“Council is currently undertaking a review on the community outreach programmes being delivered through the Community Centre, to identify any gaps between service delivery and emerging trends,” Cr Eastwood said.

“The centre provides residents with a community space that is safe, welcoming, vibrant, accessible, and available to all.

“Amongst its many functions, the Community Centre offers general information and referral assistance, outreach services, enhanced choices, networking and social events.

“It also facilitates participation in programmes and activities which build skills and promotes lifelong learning, as well as providing affordable meeting spaces on a permanent or casual basis.

“I strongly encourage the community to take part in this survey to share their feedback and ideas with us on how we can improve the programmes and services which this wonderful facility provides.”

Another fantastic initiative which forms part of the Community Centre’s services is the Dignity First Washroom, which provides free and accessible use of a private washing machine, dryer, toilet, and shower for any community member experiencing hardship.

The washroom is open from Monday to Sunday, 6.30am to 4pm.

The Community Centre is partly funded through the Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy.
