Expression of Interest now open to join Livingstone’s RADF Panel!

Livingstone Shire artists, arts and cultural workers, members of cultural groups or people active within the arts community are encouraged to consider submitting an expression of interest for membership to Council’s dynamic Regional Arts Development Fund Assessment Panel.

Council provides the opportunity to apply for RADF rounds on a biannual basis, and members of the RADF Assessment Panel help to provide guidance, review, and approve project applications.

From art exhibitions, intensive workshops, digital projections, educational murals, to studio recordings, RADF grants have assisted countless Livingstone artists in bringing their visions to life.

RADF Panel Member Anni Simmons said Livingstone Shire has an amazing array of talented and creative people.

“Whether they be musicians making original music, visual artists, poets, playwrights, storytellers, or film makers, whether they be established or emerging, they are here in Livingstone,” Anni said.

“I find the majority of projects submitted are exciting because you are able to give people the chance to fulfil an artistic dream.

“The ones with diversity that engage with the wider community really excite me.”

Mayor Andy Ireland said the programme is designed to support quality arts and cultural experiences across Queensland, including Livingstone Shire.

“RADF is a joint initiative between the Queensland Government and Livingstone Shire Council that encourages creators to use their imagination, ideas, or skills, to produce visual, auditory, or performing pieces,” Mayor Ireland said.

“Whatever the case, the arts play a vital role in building a strong community fabric, by bringing people together in a number of ways.

“I encourage anybody who is interested in the arts to express an interest in becoming an active member of the RADF Assessment Panel and I look forward to seeing the continuance of creative art projects taking place across our region.”
