Councillor Catch-Ups launch for 2022 to connect with communities across the Shire

Livingstone Shire Council will kick off its Councillor Catch-Up programme for 2022 at Nerimbera later this month.

Council is expanding the programme this year to include a new locality each month.

Mayor Andy Ireland and fellow Councillors will visit Nerimbera, Ogmore, Marlborough, Mt Chalmers, Cawarral, Glendale, Keppel Sands, The Caves, Byfield, and Glenlee throughout 2022.

Mayor Ireland said the purpose of the catch-ups is to create a safe space for community members to drop by and have a chat to their elected members.

“These won’t be traditional Town Hall style meetings, as we prefer to be able to speak with residents one on one to listen to their ideas or concerns,” he said.

“The Councillors and I are committed to a whole-of-Shire approach and want to hear feedback and the opinions of residents.

“It’s important for us to connect with as many residents as possible from our suburbs outside of the major centres of Yeppoon and Emu Park.

“I encourage everyone to come along to their local catch-up and meet with us in person to discuss any issues or to simply say hello and make a connection with us.”

Residents can also visit their dedicated locality website via the Resident Reach portal to read Council news or ask questions if they can’t attend their session in person.
