‘Solitary Union’ Exhibition at Fig Tree Gallery Opens Tonight

‘Solitary Union’ features the artwork of Jordy Sosnowski, an artist hailing from the northern New South Wales town of Mullumbimby.

The exhibition has its grand opening tonight and will be available for public viewing from tomorrow until the end of the month.

Jordy Sosnowski said she aims to provide her audience with a sense of serenity and happiness through her art.

“I love to paint natural form terrains such as mountains and icebergs and use both traditional and modern techniques to create these abstract landscapes,” Ms Sosnowski said.

“I’m extremely excited to host my first solo exhibition at the Fig Tree Galleries and hope the community enjoys my artwork.

A regular visitor to Yeppoon with her husband and their two young children, Ms Sosnowski, whose mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law own and run local businesses in town said it just made sense to have an exhibition there.

“Livingstone Shire has such a great arts scene now and I feel very supported by the local community and Council.”

Councillor Rhodes Watson, Portfolio Holder of Vibrant Community, said Council is thrilled to host such a talented artist at the renovated Fig Tree Galleries space.

‘By providing a space where residents can view and be exposed to art exhibitions such as ‘Solitary Union’, we enrich the cultural experience of our community,” Cr Watson said.

“I would encourage everyone to visit the gallery and view the wonderful exhibition over April.”

‘Solitary Union’ will be on display until 27 April.
