Livingstone Shire Council’s school holiday program blooming with fun!
The upcoming Spring on the Capricorn Coast program is filled with fun and exciting events, and offers a great range of activities guaranteed to add a spring to your step during the school holiday period.
With almost 30 activities on offer, the jam-packed program kicks off on Friday 16 September with Beach Day Out at Emu Park and finishes with the much-anticipated Fantasy Festival on Sunday 2 October.
Councillor Rhodes Watson, Portfolio Holder of Vibrant Community, said with school holidays only two weeks away, I strongly encourage families to start planning now.
“Our school holiday programs continue to be very popular, and activities often book out very quickly, so jump on our Events Calendar and register your spots now to avoid missing out,” Cr Watson said.
“The program features a diverse range of low-cost or no-cost activities that cater to a variety of interests, as well as providing an opportunity to learn new skills, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
“Skateboarding clinics, art and cooking workshops, horsemanship lessons, outdoor movies, virtual reef adventures, come and try sports sessions, as well as stage shows and festivals are just some of the awesome activities and events on offer.
“Our increasingly popular Tides and Tunes will be bringing another line up of live music to the Yeppoon foreshore.
“A special addition to this program is the Unity Project which will take place at Bell Park, Emu Park from 19 to 25 September, and invites members of our community to contribute to a living art piece that embraces diversity and inclusiveness.
“These activities and events bring our shire to life and I applaud the Council staff and the local groups and organisations who have organised such a wide variety of fun activities for the community to enjoy.”
Instructions and resources to participate in the Unity Project will be available from the Emu Park Library.
