Round One of 2022/23 Community Grants are now open!

The first round of the Livingstone Shire Council and The Real Group Community Grants Scheme for the 2022 year opens today.

This initiative provides funding of up to $5000 to not-for-profit groups and sporting clubs which helps them to deliver projects and programmes for our community.

This extra support allows community and sporting groups to increase their current capacity and resilience, whilst responding to the needs of the community for the future.

Councillor Pat Eastwood, Portfolio Holder of Healthy and Inclusive Community, said that these grants have made a huge difference for Livingstone’s community and sporting groups in the past.

“The funding received has been used by groups of all sizes and purposes for a variety of things such as new equipment, upgrades to current facilities, as well as training or future learning opportunities,” said Cr Eastwood.

“Local clubs and community groups contribute to a wealth of different activities and services within our community and Council is proud to support them in continuing to stay up and running and get their projects off the ground.

“In Round Two 2021/22 groups purchased water tanks, shade shelters, electrical equipment, accessible beach matting, as well as undergoing structural upgrades.

“I would encourage all community and sporting groups to apply for this funding to get a helping hand with their projects.”

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria, be operating within the Livingstone Shire Council's Local Government Area and be providing programmes, outcomes or activities which benefit residents and improve overall community well-being.

The grants are administered through the Smarty Grants online platform with an Applicant Information Session to be held on 7 September from 5.00pm to 6.30pm at Level 2, The Hub, James St, Yeppoon.

Applications open from Monday, 5 September 2022 to Sunday, 2 October 2022.
