Art exhibition celebrates natural environment of Central Queensland
Works inspired by the Capricorn Coast, Central Queensland, and Bimblebox Nature Refuge landscapes will feature in an art exhibition, opening this week at Fig Tree Galleries.
Peta Lloyd, Michelle Black, and Sally North, artists from Latitude 23 Arts, will showcase their ‘NATURE + ART’ exhibition, starting Sunday 6 November.
Each piece in this collaborative exhibition is a celebration of nature, with local flora, fresh waterways, the ocean, light, and sunshine captured to inspire the collection of artwork.
Peta Lloyd, one of the three exhibiting artists, said that the artworks on show in Latitude 23 Arts latest exhibition, ‘NATURE + ART’ have all been inspired by natural environments in Queensland.
“We have created an engaging and diverse exhibition that includes original prints, artist books, textile arts, and photography, all inspired by the natural beauty of our region”, Ms Lloyd said.
“Locals and visitors alike are invited to the opening night of the exhibition, which will be hosted by Latitude 23 Arts President Nanette Balchin, and opened by former environmental artist and champion of our central Queensland environment, Amber Countryman.
This exhibition will be on display from Sunday 6 November to Sunday 27 November, with the opening night being held on Saturday 5 November from 5.00 pm.
