Kerr Park playground to be temporarily closed for maintenance

Back

Livingstone Shire Council wishes to advise residents that the playground in Kerr Park at Emu Park’s Main Beach will be closed to public access from Wednesday 8 March 2023.

The temporary closure is to allow repairs and protective coating works to be undertaken on the large Alpha Tower.

Four carpark bays will also be closed off to allow for the installation of a temporary site office.

The park will remain open for public access, including the rotundas and barbecues.

Weather permitting, the playground is expected to be reopened early April along with the flying fox which is also currently out of order for maintenance.

In the meantime, people are encouraged to take advantage of nearby playgrounds, including:

  • Bell Park playground, Hill Street Emu Park
  • Lions Park playground, Pattison Street Emu Park
  • The Causeway Esplanade playground, Pinnacle Street, The Causeway
  • Thwaite Park playground, Monte Carlo Drive Zilzie

Council will endeavour to update the community on the progress of works and if works are expected to take longer than expected.

Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience and thank residents for their patience during this time.
