Easter eggstravaganza school holiday programme coming to Livingstone!

Back

Make some special memories with your kids these school holidays and join in the fun of Easter on the Capricorn Coast!

Starting from Friday 31 March, the two-week programme features plenty of activities to keep your kids engaged and entertained, with something to choose from almost every day.

Councillor Rhodes Watson, Portfolio Holder of Vibrant Communities (Tourism, Arts and Culture), encouraged parents or guardians to take their kids along to one or all of the exciting activities available.

“From arts and crafts, basketball, outdoor skills workshops, a short course in fishing, sand sculpting workshops, an animal show, live music and more, there is something for the whole family to enjoy,” Cr Watson said.

“One of the bigger events on our calendar is the two-day Easter Eggstravaganza over the weekend of April 1-2.

“This will take place in Yeppoon’s Beaman Park and feature arts and crafts, Easter egg hunts, jewellery making workshops, eggciting entertainment, live children’s shows and roving performers, bubble play, as well as a visit from the Easter Bunny!

“From Easter Monday (10 April) families can head to the beach and learn the art of sand sculpting over four days with the Sandshapers. This is an intriguing and fun-filled sandcastle workshop for both children and adults, offering a unique opportunity to learn about making sandcastles while sharing happy moments with others.

“Council is proud to continue to deliver these school holiday programmes throughout the year, which have been a huge success since launching in 2021.

“Not only do they provide wonderful experiences for the Shire’s youth, they also benefit our business community with an economic boost in driving more traffic to our town centres.”

In addition to this, Council’s popular Tides and Tunes program will see talented local musicians take to the Yeppoon Amphitheatre stage to perform live each Friday and Saturday nights across three weekends.

The school holiday events will be held from 31 March and will run until 14 April.
