Clint Swadling appointed as new councillor for Livingstone Shire

Livingstone Shire Councillors yesterday voted to appoint Clint Swadling to the vacant position of councillor.

Six sitting councillors reviewed 16 candidate applications and conducted a ballot process before voting to appoint Mr Swadling.

A long-term resident of Kunwarara, Mr Swadling is the 1st Officer of the Kunwarara Rural Fire Brigade and brings extensive State and local government experience to the role, including as the current Emergency Management Controller with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

Mr Swadling will take his declaration of office in the coming days and will immediately begin his onboarding process to perform the many functions of local government councillors.

All 16 candidates are to be congratulated for their keen interest in this important position.
