Local community groups and sporting clubs across Livingstone Shire have the opportunity to secure vital funding with the latest round of the Livingstone Shire Council and Bendigo Community Bank Community Grants Scheme now open.

The program offers grants of up to $5,000 to support innovative projects that strengthen community capacity, resilience, and well-being.

Livingstone Shire Council is proud to partner with Bendigo Community Bank to support local organisations in delivering initiatives that have a lasting positive impact on the community. The grants scheme enables groups to address community needs, enhance services, and improve facilities.

Councillor Andrea Friend, Co-Chair of the Recreation and Culture Committee, expressed her enthusiasm for the impact these grants have.

“We’re thrilled to work alongside Bendigo Community Bank to offer these grants. The scheme allows community groups to dream bigger and create more inclusive, resilient spaces that benefit everyone,” Cr Friend said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the projects that will emerge from this round of funding.”

Councillor Lance Warcon, Co-Chair of the Recreation and Culture Committee, added that these grants are more than just financial assistance—they foster community spirit, connection, and growth.

“The accessibility improvements at Capricorn Coast Football Club are just one example of how these funds help groups take their services to the next level,” Cr Warcon said.

“I encourage all eligible groups to apply and make the most of this incredible opportunity.”

Sharon Delaney, representative of Bendigo Community Bank, shared the bank’s pride in working with Livingstone Shire Council to give back to the community.

“Our financial contribution ensures more clubs and groups in our community can thrive and continue making a difference in the lives of residents,” Ms Delaney said.

“We are proud that 80% of the profits from our Yeppoon and Emu Park branches is given back to our local area to fund community projects, and we value this joint project with Council.”

In the last round, Capricorn Coast Football Club received $5,000 to upgrade their facilities, ensuring all abilities access to the canteen and shed—a game-changer for their operations.

Reuben Roberts, President of Capricorn Coast Football Club, said the funding has been crucial in working towards making our facilities accessible to everyone.

“The improvements will benefit our players, volunteers, and visitors alike. We’re incredibly grateful for the support and encourage other clubs to apply for this fantastic opportunity,” Mr Roberts said.
