Spring into Excitement with the Capricorn Coast School Holiday Program!
With the school holidays just days away, Livingstone Shire Council is excited to unveil the highly anticipated Spring on the Capricorn Coast School Holiday Program!
Packed with over 20 exciting events and activities, this program promises plenty of opportunities to have fun with the whole family, helping you to create unforgettable memories together.
The fun kicks off on Friday, September 13, with the action-packed Capricorn Coast 5s NRL Beach Tackle event at Yeppoon’s Main Beach.
You can also celebrate the end of school term by taking part in Beach Day Out! Taking place in the beautiful Bell Park in Emu Park, this event aims to celebrate people with disability and to provide community connections in a fun and welcoming day out in the sun.
From there, two weeks of daily entertainment will follow, culminating in the grand EXTRAordinary Tent Show on the Yeppoon Foreshore from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 September.
Councillor Andrea Friend, Co-Chair of the Recreation and Culture Committee, is encouraging families to plan ahead and make the most of this fantastic program.
“Our school holiday programs are always in high demand, and spots fill up quickly. To ensure your family doesn’t miss out on the fun, we strongly recommend visiting our Events Calendar to register for your preferred activities as soon as possible,” Cr Friend said.
“This diverse and accessible program offers a fantastic range of low-cost or free activities to suit a wide variety of interests and skill levels.
“From outdoor movie screenings, arts and crafts, and sandcastle-building workshops to cooking classes, virtual reef adventures, come-and-try sports sessions, stage shows, and festivals—there’s truly something for everyone.”
One of the program's standout features is the brand-new EXTRAordinary Tent Show on the Yeppoon Foreshore.
The lively Crack Up Sisters will lead the way with their unique mix of comedy, acrobatics, and audience participation. The show will also include puppet performances, flea training, storytelling, and song writing workshops. With four sessions per day from Thursday 26 September to Sunday 29 September, there’s no shortage of fun.
Another calendar highlight is the award-winning children’s comedy show Children Are Stinky by Circus Trick Tease. This hilarious, high-energy show has enjoyed sell-out performances worldwide and features top-notch circus acts, a rocking soundtrack, and plenty of belly laughs.
For sporting enthusiasts, Council and Queensland Cricket have partnered to bring a unique cricket experience to the Yeppoon Showgrounds on Wednesday 18 September for the Cricket Colour Blast.
Join in for a fun-filled day with inflatable bowling nets, target games, and colourful activities!
For those with a passion for marine life, the Virtual Reef Adventures offers an immersive experience that allows you to explore the reef without getting wet. Participants will learn from the reef authority about sea turtles and the efforts being made to protect them, followed by a watercolour art session.
Adding even more excitement is the return of the popular Tides and Tunes performances, bringing live music by a bunch of local talented artists to the Yeppoon Foreshore over three weekends.
Councillor Lance Warcon, Co-Chair of the Recreation and Culture Committee, expressed his appreciation for the Council staff and local groups that collaborated to create this exciting program.
“These events help to bring our Shire to life, activating community spaces while fostering connection, and we commend the dedication and creativity of everyone involved,” Cr Warcon said.
“We look forward to welcoming Livingstone’s young people as they join in two weeks of adventure, learning, and entertainment across our region’s beautiful backyard.”
