Livingstone Youth Action Group to Host Coastal Youth Festival: Beach Beats!

Livingstone Shire Council is proud to support the Livingstone Youth Action Group in delivering an exciting new event, Coastal Youth Festival: Beach Beats, as part of the 2025 Queensland Youth Week celebrations.

Set to take place on Tuesday, 8 April 2025, this vibrant festival will provide a platform for local youth to connect, have fun, and showcase their talents in arts and culture.

Council was successful in securing funding support for the festival, as part of the Community Events Grant for Queensland Youth Week, via the Department of Housing and Public Works (Office for Youth).

Councillor Lance Warcon praised the initiative, stating the festival will be a fantastic opportunity for young people in our community to come together, celebrate their diversity, and highlight their incredible talents.

“It’s all about fostering a sense of belonging and creating positive experiences for our youth,” Cr Warcon said.

“The festival will feature a variety of exciting activities, including youth market stalls, suitcase rummage stalls, and live performances.

“Young people are encouraged to get involved by hosting a stall or stepping onto the stage to share their talents with the community.”

Additionally, key youth stakeholders and support services will be in attendance to showcase the resources available to young people in Livingstone Shire, ensuring they feel connected and valued within the community.

“This event is all about building resilience, strengthening community ties, and making sure our young people feel supported and empowered,” Councillor Warcon added.

“Council would like to commend members of the Livingstone Shire Youth Action Group once again for their innovative and forward-thinking efforts in creating meaningful opportunities for local young people to connect, express themselves, and engage with the community.

“We encourage everyone to come along, participate, and be part of the celebration!”

As part of the festival, the Youth Action Group is still seeking market stallholders to get involved and showcase their creations.
