New Council website launches with fresh, modern redesign for user-friendliness

After months of detailed planning and development, Council has launched its new website today, aimed at creating a streamlined and efficient experience for its users.

Council engaged Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) as its web developer, known for building several Queensland Council websites including Noosa Regional Council, Logan City Council, and Gladstone Regional Council.

Portfolio holder of Organisational Performance, including communications, Deputy Mayor Adam Belot, said this project had been a priority for Council for some time.

“Upgrading a website can take a substantial amount of work and this project has seen a complete overhaul of Council’s current website, in order to modernise and improve its accessibility for residents and visitors,” Cr Belot said.

“It was imperative to make the website as user-friendly as possible, so navigating for essential services like paying a bill or registering your pet can be completed with ease and simplicity.

“We have received a lot of community feedback over the years that Council’s website was in need of some upgrades, so we’re extremely pleased to be able to offer a fresh, modern redesign while retaining important Council information and services for residents.

“This important community project also forms part of Council’s overarching strategy to work to enhance internet connectivity and promote innovative technologies to streamlining services.”

Some of the new functions and features of the website includes a dedicated space for local Council news which Council encourages people to head to in order to stay up to date, with videos, photos and media releases.

The Public Notices section will also include Local Laws information such as auctions of impounded vehicles, as well as advertising schedules of Council meetings and special meetings.
